Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 Day 8 Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 Day 12 Day 13 (Overview)
From the Clubhouse you need to take today the Hotel Shuttle bus to the southern part of Mission Hills Haikou which will take around 15 minutes. We recommend you to play either Stone Quarry or Shadow Dunes. During the week the southern part is nearly abandoned, so you can enjoy a relaxed and peaceful golf play here.Stone Quarry is from the design a bit on the playful side and features countless mining and railroad elements. The sometimes massive bunkers and hills are sidelined with wooden railroad planks and lonely railroad tracks lead through rough lava stone debris fields and every now and then you come across some mining lorries which make you feel being in a long gone world. Longhitters will have a slight advantage here although some of the greens are really mean and technical play is demanded. For us, Stone Quarry is thanks to the unique features one of the most enjoyable courses in Mission Hills, although purists may not share the same opinion.
Shadow Dunes is from the play time one of the shorter courses in Mission Hills Haikou. Schmidt and Curley dragged massive amounts of sand from the neighboring beaches on the course and created, well, a beach course without beach. Optically it is one of the most beautiful courses in the south area and the massive sans features are complemented by even more massive greens. Technical short play is key to success and a sloppy approach requires extreme putting to compensate.
