Changbaishan
Changbaishan is loacted in the North Eastern Jilin Province just next to the North Korean border. It's probably the largest and most ambitious ski resort project in whole China and 3 Doppelmayer chairlifts with bubble and seat heating as well as 2 POMA cable cars will give access to 43 slopes with a total length of 30 km. The resort is an investment of the Dalian Wanda Group who invests a total of 3.4 Billion USD.
The project area is separated into a Northern and a Southern Zone. While the Southern Zone is mainly consisting of the ski resort, a small tourist village and a hotel cluster, the Northern Zone is planned to host a Tourist Town.
During summer various activities such as golfing, hiking and others will be offered. In early 2012 Sheraton and Westin Hotel opened its doors and offer the full 5* service they are famous for.
Since the ski resort is in close vicinity to the Heavenly Lake Tianchi, which is China's largest volcanic crater lake and belongs partly to China and partly to North Korea DPRK, it's highly recommended to take for a day a break from skiing and visit the stunning vista of this amazing lake.
To get to Changbaishan the easiest way is a flight to Changbaishan Airport (followed by a 30 minutes drive to the hotel) or by flight to Yanji Airport (followed by a 2 hours drive to the Hotel)
