After obtaining the National Senior Professional Title of Associate Professorship on Translation since 1995, Prof. Zheng devoted himself to working on Shanghai Jewish Refugee history, Cultural Revolution, Shanghai history and development of Chinese Communist Party. And his comments and publications are kept as treasure archives in Shanghai city government as interior files.
The book “Jewish Refugees in Shanghai” best embodied Prof. Zheng’s essence of lecture on French Concession and the City’s Modern History. His lecture “Jewish Refugees in Shanghai” has already become a must for all Jewish people or people who are interested in Shanghai Jewish refugee history. Until now, people coming from more than 30 countries have enjoyed Professor Zheng’s lecture. Each year, various professional groups pay a visit to Shanghai, ranging from teachers, historians, lawyers, doctors to economists, etc. Prof. Zheng has been invited by city government for many times to give lectures to these city guests. For example, during Shanghai’s bidding for the EXPO 2010, his profound knowledge won the highly prize of Mr. Philipson, chairman of International Bureau of Exposition, saying that it was all because of you that we loved Shanghai better. Afterwards, Professor Zheng was invited by Shanghai city government as permanent adviser for Shanghai City Image Promotion.
Now, Professor Zheng works as a pioneer for Shanghai city government, whose mission is to impress every audience by his lectures, get all of his audience to know and love Shanghai better and more importantly, to promote Shanghai image to all over the world.
