Beijing gay nightlife tour

Our guides Dao and Rob will take you out for a night of information, fun, get together and discoveries. Starting with a Chinese dinner, our guides will give you first a bit of historical background about homosexual China. Later the topic will switch to the past decade and how the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) scene in Beijing has been developing. They will explain you the social challenges, why a coming-out in China is somewhat more challenging than in the Western countries. They will also tell you about their own experiences and since our guide is a couple of a local Chinese and a Westerner, you will get both points of view. On top of that they will of course also tell you the “do’s and don’t’s” while traveling in China. Following these advices you will enjoy a most hassle free journey through China.

After dinner , Dao and Rob will take you to the local gay bars and clubs, show you the venues and introduce you to their friends. In this way you will be immediately in contact with local people and you will know the location of the venues that you find in the remaining days in Beijing your way back there.

Schedule for the group tour (every Sunday or on request):

19:00 – 19:15: meet at the “Ya Show” market in Sanlitun at the main door
19:15 – 19:30: walk to the Restaurant
19:30 – 21:30: Have a Chinese dinner and dicsussion
21:30 – 00:00: hit the gay bars and clubs

Costs: RMB 900 per person (minimum of 6 people).

Included: dinner with local beer and soft drinks, Dao and Rob as guides until midnight, transport in taxi, entrance fees to the clubs if applicable
Excluded: drinks other than local beer and soft drinks for dinner, drinks in the bars and clubs (unless included in the entrance fee)

Schedule for the private tour (date on request):

19:00 – 19:15: meet at your hotel
19:15 – 19:30: transfer to the restaurant (restaurant can be of your choice or upon our or the guides recommendation – some restaurants will need reservation, so you can check your preferences with us upon tour booking and we reserve the restaurant to your liking)
19:30 – 22:00: Have dinner and discussion
22:00 – 01:00: hit the gay bars and clubs

Costs: RMB 4500 for 1 person, RMB 5000 for 2-4 people, RMB 6000 for 5-8 people

Included: : Dao and Rob as guides until 01:00, entrance fees to the clubs if applicable
Excluded: dinner (dinner for the guides will be your charge), transport (if you prefer a private car over taxis, please ask us for a quote, drinks in the bars and clubs (unless included in the entrance fee)
