The list of awards and recognitions for Spring City is nearly endless and Spring City is definitely among the highest awarded golf courses in Asia. Spring City Mountain Course was designed by legendary Legend Jack Nicklaus and was together with Lake Course one of the most anticipated golf courses in China. The skilled design spiked with various obstacles and strategic placed bunkers in combination with lots of trees makes this course also for pros very challenging. Golfers form all over Asia flock for the weekends to Spring City to try to dominate the course. The Lake Course is designed by Robert Trent Jones JR and what makes it special are the various terraces that have been carved into the mountain slope. You can clearly see that there were at parts massive earth movements required to make the area playable and this resulted in one of the most dramatic courses of China and maybe of Aisa. There are sometimes massive elevations changes and the most spectacular view os form the halfway house over signature hole No. 9. Especially during the flowering period, you will see amazing pictures. Shilin Stone Forest was only opened in 2011 and built on the side of the Shilin Stone Forest national Park which is part of the UNESCO worl heritage "South China Karst". As one of the important touristic areas in Yunnan this golf course is truly remarkable, as the bizarre stone formation within the 3 courses (Yufeng Ridge, Leaders Peak and Masters Resort) are worldwide unique. For the less experienced golfers Masters Resort can quickly become Masters Disaster as when then drives are not correct and bounce of the rock formations, game play will quickly feel switch to flipper gaming.
It is recommended to stay at least 3 nights in Spring City, better 4 nights that you can play Lake and Mountain Course as well as the two public golf courses in Stone Forest, Yufeng Ridge and Masters Resort once each. The hotel resort of Srping City is officially a 5* Resort, but is rahter comparable to a Western 4* Resort. Spring City is one hour drive from Kunming and Stone Forest another hour from Spring City.
